Rockabye Baby

Even though I don’t have kids, I know TONNES of people who do.

And one of the projects that parents-to-be always want to compete before the birth of their bundle of joy, is the baby’s room.

It’s easy to go with the regular pink room for girl, blue for boy. But there are so many other options!

Think about how your child may grow and change with this room. A baby doesn’t stay little forever and eventually his or her tastes will change.

So to avoid too much work later on, try to create a room that will evolve with your baby’s growth.

Here are some of my favourites.

The stripes on the walls here would easily go from boy to man.

The Chinoiserie design in this room match the little girl’s stuffed animals, but also screams chic!

This room would be easy to re-create with a few old pieces of furniture, a fresh coat of paint and a trip to the flea market to find a big mirror. Babies love to look at themselves in the mirror. Every day is a new discovery for the little cuties!

Chic Shack

The grey dresser in this room can easily be placed anywhere in the house if your child no longer wants it.

Lay Baby Lay

Mariah Carey brought in some kiddie touches to her twin’s room with the giant giraffe.

If you are aching for some bold colours, you could always transofrm an old dresser into a baby change table. Then if your child ends up growing out of it,  just sell it on craigs. Personally I would probably keep this beauty and put it somewhere else in the house. A little punch of colour never hurt anyone!

I’m loving this bold makeover from Honey + Fitz.

Not only does this look fantastic, it also has a heck of a lot of storage!
